I get asked a lot on what it’s like to study my subjects, what school is like and whether A-Levels are hard.
I study A-Level Psychology, Geography and Sociology (I studied just Business last year). They are some of the hardest subjects you can study at A-Level, they require a lot of work – a lot of note taking and involves a fair amount of homework, tests, assignments etc. The hardest subject for me is Geography, in the UK it is a facilitating subject, which basically means it’s considered hard. Along side other subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Mathematics/Further Mathematics, Languages (French, Spanish and German), English Literature and a couple of others.
For me, Geography is fairly straight forward although there is a LOT of information to remember, the same with Sociology. But with Psychology, it is a mixture of it being difficult and a lot of information to remember. Currently, I am aiming for BBB overall. I would be extremely satisfied with that. Anything lower I would be a little upset, CCC is the absolute lowest I would accept!
I am coming to the end of my first year of A-Levels (2 year duration) and it haas been a roller coaster. I have had highs – really fun and enjoyable moments with my subjects and friends, and of course the lows, which has made me question whether I have made the right decisions to come to Sixth Form. I have under 11 months left until I finish and have my first exam. I am full of excitement and nerves to see what the future holds.
